The COVID School Closure Crisis is an opportunity to reconsider school design. While germ spread is confronted, addressing pre-COVID systemic issues (illustrated below) can also be tackled. Teaming up with Jaros, Baum & Bolles Consulting Engineers for their expertise, the design vignettes in this booklet are informed by cutting edge understanding of COVID spread. Beyond containing a virus, healthy environments create the best opportunity for student learning and social-emotional development.
